I use specific asanas suited to your unique physiology with the additional tools of Ayurved and Jyotish (Vedic Astrology) if desired.
In order to create a more individualized, holistic approach to your well being, guidelines for a daily routine, seasonal diet and lifestyle recommendations can be used in order to create more overall life support, vitality and happiness. In addition, each private session includes marma therapy techniques, chanting (nadum), meditation and intention.
The result is a complete and well-rounded approach to yoga and spiritual evolution.
Basics Classes:
Though we have fun while we do it, this is a yoga class built on the basic yoga principles, in-depth alignment instruction, use of props, injury prevention and rehabilitation. This is an excellent class for those needing a gentle approach to asanas, looking for instruction and knowledge incorporated into their yoga practice or seeking a deeper practice all together. Pranayama and meditation are included in every class along with Ayurvedic tips and other Vedic knowledge.
Experienced:
For those who have a regular yoga practice and who have a good grasp on alignment, this class is for you. If you are ready to take basic asanas and put them into sequences, linked by breath, while adding jumps and longer holds, then you will enjoy this Jivamukti style yoga class. Chanting, pranayama and meditation are incorporated in the practice, along with alignment principles, mindfulness, humor and practical insights from Ayurveda and Jyotish as well.
About me:
Well rooted in the yogic tradition, I started meditating in the womb before given personal instruction by my grandmother in the Transcendental Meditation Technique at age six. My love of yoga and Vedic knowledge, as well as the thought that life is a continuous college of learning, has led me to certification by Sharon Gannon and David Life of the Jivamukti yoga practice, the Maharishi University, as well as encounters with countless books, retreats and travels. In addition to Jivamukti, I honor the Hatha, Ashtanga, Iyengar and Anusara lineages in my approach to teaching. I insure that each class is complete with breath awareness, pranayama, alignment principles, meditation and Sanskrit. Sprinkles of Ayurvedic (Vedic health science) and Jyotish (Vedic astrology) tips are incorporated along the way.
Words From Students:
“My yoga practice has, well, become MY practice since meeting Sarah. I feel so connected… It is such a gift to learn from Sarah and to have that opportunity…. Thank you both. Namasté Laura”
“…..I know i’m still a little intimidated by the higher level classes–even the regular beginners. that changed when i took sarah miller’s class one monday….i went and absolutely loved the class… i even tried a meditation class that she taught. she is a true gentle soul and her approach is comforting to beginners–using props etc to help the newbies feel much more empowered. Thanks, Sue.”
